Fried Pickle Pizza
Prep Time: 15 min | Cook Time: 15-20 min | Cook Temp: 450°
Ingredients
- 12” HRI Classic Sausage Pizza
- 1 cup dill pickle chips
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup water
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 quart vegetable oil
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 3 tsp ranch seasoning
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450˚F
- Remove pizza from all packaging
- Prepare ranch dressing. Whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, and ranch seasoning until smooth. Note: if the dressing is too thick, add water 1 tablespoon at a time to reach desired consistency
- Preheat a large pot with oil to 375˚F. In a shallow bowl, whisk together flour, water, Italian seasoning, sea salt, and cayenne pepper until smooth
- Pat dry the pickle chips and dip them in the batter until evenly coated
- Carefully drop the battered pickles into the hot oil one at a time, and cook for 2-3 minutes before transferring to a plate lined with paper towel. Repeat with the remaining pickles, monitoring the temperature of the oil as you go
- Arrange the fried pickles evenly over the pizza. Place pizza in the oven directly on the oven rack and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Note: if you find that your fried pickles are browning too quickly, carefully remove them from the pizza, and set aside. Add the fried pickles back to your pizza with 1-2 minutes remaining
- Once the pizza is cooked, remove from the oven, and drizzle with ranch dressing
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
